Rethinking Work • a HighwayLabs series

How does being a follower of Jesus transform the way we think about, live out, and navigate our relationship with work?

Work is such a huge part of our lives, whether we’re in absorbing careers, navigating schoolwork, caregiving for parents or children, or more. How does being a follower of Jesus transform how we think about, live out, and navigate our relationship with work? Join us for a series of informal talks that explore these issues.

Each session will be held immediately after Sunday service, from 11:30-12:30PM in Room A1.
Light snacks are provided, no sign-up is required. You are welcome to come to one or more of these sessions.

1. "Why We Work: Theology” May 17th

2. "How We Work: Praxis” May 24th

3. "Finding Our Work: Vocation” May 31st

“Why We Work: Theology” will explore what the Bible says about work by examining two creation accounts in Genesis and the new creation account in Revelation. We will see how the Bible defines work, what work is designed to be, how work has been distorted, and how to understand the telos of work.

“How We Work: Praxis” examines practical ways to integrate faith and work. We will discuss how to identify and deploy vocational power, and how to integrate faith and work in four different arenas.

“Finding Our Work: Vocation” examines the question, “how do I know what God wants me to do for my work?” We will discuss the concept of vocation, how to understand God’s will, and look at concepts and tools that help us identify our vocations.
