Racial Justice

For all who have a heart for our church community’s role in racial justice, we invite you to journey together in a regular rhythm of gathering.

The Racial Justice Group

This group centers listening to and learning from the voices of the oppressed as well as pursuing justice for those experiencing racial and socio-economic marginalization.

They’re currently reading the book “The Small and the Mighty” and participating in small yet mighty acts that are making tangible differences in the world today.

Gatherings are on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month at 7pm.

Past Resources:

“The Color of Compromise.”

In 2021, various Highway leaders and groups read and discussed Dr. Tisby’s seminal book “The Color of Compromise.” This book is a recommended engagement with both the broken past of the American church, and a needed call toward a better way.

“Be The Bridge.”

Over the first months of 2024 the Racial Justice Group will be reading and discussing Latasha Morrisson's “Be the Bridge: Pursuing God's Heart for Racial Justice”.
