If anything, God has been faithful to me throughout my life.  There have been many times where God has been at my side.  It wasn’t until recently, that I was in dire need of God’s faithful love. At the end of my junior year of high school, my dad’s job was relocated to Roseville (near Sacramento).  Rather than forcing me to move with my parents to the middle of nowhere, my parents allowed me to stay in the Bay Area to finish my senior year.  For most people, the time when they move out from their parents house is a time of limitless freedom and is the perfect time to explore what was once off limits. The funny thing is, I never moved out from my parents, my parents moved out from me.

Within five months of my dad’s relocation, I was pushed out into the world to live on my own.  Senior year for anyone is filled with moments you will remember for the rest of your life.  My parents made it a point to be there
for the big ones, like prom, graduation, and the all night party which follows the ceremony.  But what about the times when I need them most like when I need advice, or when I get into huge fights with my brother to the
point where I don’t even feel welcome in the house?  I would try turning to my friends for advice, but they would never have an idea of what to say because they were still in the process of becoming independent themselves. None of them knew what it was like to not have your parents to depend on. To this day, there is one place which has brought me comfort and hope when I struggle.  One friend has always been there for me.  He always knows what is going on.  He can read me like no one else.  Every time I bring myself to his arms, I feel surrounded by compassion.  Jesus has been persistently faithful to me over the years.  I don’t expect God to take away my fears or make them feel smaller, I expect God to love me and understand me
completely.  The faith God gives to me has changed the way I live, speak, and breathe.

“And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”
-Romans 5:5
