VBS 2008 - Power Lab!
Vacation Bible School is coming! The week of June 23-27, the Highway Kids will be discovering Jesus’ miraculous power at the Power Lab! The Power Lab will be open daily from 9:00am – 12:00pm, and there will be a parent open house on Friday Evening. Cost is $35. Click here to register online or to volunteer!
Wednesday AM Prayer
Join us at 7am in the Highway office to pray for God to work in our lives, in our community, and in our world. Tuesday Night
Tuesday Night, presented by Highway Family Ministries (HFM), is an evening for the entire family that is oriented around supporting and equipping parents in their role as the primary faith developers of their children. Each week begins at 5:30pm with a meal, which is then followed by a time of music and games, which is then followed by a line-up of “channels” from which to choose: the Family Channel, the Kids Channel, the Parenting Channel, the Marriage Channel, the Finance Channel, and the Theology Channel. Each channel features a 6 week series on a subject relevant to that channel. Tuesday Night ends promptly at 8:00pm so that everyone can get home at a reasonable hour.

Connect with a One Another Group
Named for the over 40 “one another” commands in the New Testament that define what God’s love looks like in relationships, One Another Goups (OAGs) are small groups of 10-15 people that provide a great context for building a relationship with God and others.
Groups are currently meeting on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights around the Bay Area, and will resume meeting after the new year. For more information, including the 2007-08 directory of groups, click here.
Alpha Course Continues
Alpha is a discussion oriented investigation of Christianity in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. Alpha meets from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m., one night a week for eight weeks. Each evening begins with a meal, provided free as a part of the course. Dinner is followed by a video presentation. Following the video, we break into small groups to discuss your ideas on the topic at hand. There’s still time to be a part of the course! For further details, or to register, click here.
Silent Auction for the Browns - 05.18

Silent Retreat - 05.31
In our busy lives, it’s so difficult to create space where God can speak to us in his still small voice. In the world of cell phones, e-mail, TiVo, teleconferencing, blackberries, and unlimited access to copious amounts of caffeine—it’s easy to relegate our relationship with God to a dark, dusty corner of our schedules.
On May 31 we will be having our second Highway Silent Retreat—a Saturday afternoon where you can be alone with God in nature. We will invade Presentation Center in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains in Los Gatos and open the afternoon for prayer, reflection, meditation, and listening. After a few hours, we will gather together to talk about our experiences and share a meal.

Silent Retreat Schedule:
12:00 noon – meet at HWMV to carpool
1:00 – arrive at Presentation Center
1:15 – singing & prepare for silent time
1:30 – start silent time
5:00 – finish silent time; Begin time of sharing and worship.
6:00 – dinner together
7:00 – depart
7:30 – arrive back at HWMV
